Another avid collector was in need of a storage solution so I adapted the Kennedy Toy Box to new size specifications and personalized graphics.

A peek at the process

The timeline—or sequence of steps—for modeling the toy box in Fusion 360.
The layers in Adobe Illustrator show the progression of the graphic design.

Parts for the box were once again cut out on a CNC machine. After gluing it up, the box was finished with several clear coats of polycrylic. Unlike the Kennedy toy box, the graphics were cut out of colored vinyl film to be applied permanently rather than creating temporary vinyl stencils and then painting the graphics. Indexing two colors on the irregularly shaped box sides was a fun little challenge, but once the method was planned executing it was not as fiddly as I anticipated.
